Study at 2iE

2iE offers access possibilities for students who have completed higher education or after 2-year, 3-year and  5-year university degree.  Selection of candidates is upon consideration of their applications, according to the quality of their initial training and the relevancy of their professional project. In initial training, 2iE receives each year on average «3000 applications for only 500 places.

Except the PhD, all the applications are carried out via the online enrolment platform.

2iE different campus – Ouagadougou and  Kumba – offer a nice study environment and world-class  life, study and research  infrastructures.

To leave for an exchange in one of our partner Universities

The exchange programs developed thanks to an academic and scientific partner network spread on four continents, allow students to carry out one to two study semesters abroad. This mobility is possible thanks to the Bachelor/Master/PhD system adopted by 2iE. Based on the semester principle of the study years, it enables an harmonization of the training programs and a recognition at European level.

The validation of each Course Unit  is acknowledged by the attribution of a certain “credit”  number  or CTS (Credit Transfert and accumulation System).  As 2iE is recognized in Europe, credits obtained at 2iE are transferable with other credits that can be achieved in European Universities.  A semester always correspond to 30 CTS, so a year is equal to 60 CTS. Credits (CTS) are attributed once and for all, for a life time and can be transferred.

Pimaso, for student mobility in Africa, Caribbean and Pacific

Pimaso is a program promoting mobility, targeted at students of African Master’s programs and PhD. It allows to benefit from a mobility grant to carry out a part of the studies or research works in one of the eleven partner establishments of the program. 2iE, program coordinator member, belongs to the establishment, which can welcome students in mobility. The selection of the mobility grant-holder is undertaken via consideration of the applications, according to the academic level, the individual project and the candidate social situation.  Applications and follow-up of the forms is exclusively carried out online.

International Mobility and Research  

In the case of a co-supervised thesis, it is possible to carry out a part of the research works within one of the 24 partner universities of the Doctoral School throughout the world.  The thesis agreement is thus co-signed by the two universities, in order to settle the registration modalities, terms of functioning and the viva examination, as well as the issue of intellectual property of results. Each establishment designates a thesis co-supervisor and the arrangement will only be possible if the PhD candidate meets the admission requirements for both partner universities.
Tuition fees are paid to one of the universities. Specific fees due to laboratories maintenance are charged to universities of the partnership and evaluated pro-rata on the amount of time used except in the case of an pre-agreement due to the nature of the research project. The thesis may be written in English or in French. The student only takes one viva examination in either schools and in front of jury-members assigned by a common-agreement. The degree is recognized in all contract-bound universities.

The LMI Picas-Water, for research in international cooperation  

LMI, stands for Lab Mixte International, Picas-Water, to Predict the Impact of Climate and   usAge on the reSources in Water in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The LMI Picas-Water is a study Lab created in 2012 in the framework of a call for projects in the IRD. It aims at better understanding, to better anticipate the quantitative and qualitative changes in terms of water resources in Sub-Saharan Africa.   Co-supported by 2iE, HSM, one of the main unit of the IRD in the area of water resources and the University  of Ngaoundéré,  he also associate numerous partner universities from the South and the North. Provided with a research credit for the five years to come, the LMI will allow the undertaking of joint research, training and innovation projects from a shared scientific platform (labs, equipment, IT and documents means, etc.).
